Best game to start with?
I am getting into the game, and I was wondering which one to buy. I was thinking Factions, but I am not sure. Any help would be great!
Thanks!

imo, if you're not getting them all at once i would start off with them in the order they came out.
prophecies first.

Read this.
I would suggest Prophecies or Nightfall if you like to PvE, Factions if you like PvP.

the best one to start with is not factions. check this thread out to see all the pros & cons of each game http://www.guildwarsguru.com/forum/s...php?t=10102502
You could look around and find the trilogy pack & get all 3 chapters for a very reasonable price.

Star with Prophecies. It has the best learning curve. Make sure to do the quests, because alot of them give you skills as a reward.

IMO Prophecies since it's the longest, and as Apollo stated you'll also get quite a few of your skills just by doing quests. If you do Nightfall first, the ending might be confusing to you.

Prophecies has too low of a learning curve, in my opinion. Nightfall is the best in that regard.
However, I'd suggest playing them in order so that you get the story.

Factions is great if you're looking to level your character quickly but I wouldn't do it any other way than the way I did it. Start off with Proph... learn the game... enjoy the story. Too many people rush through, IMO proph will give you the best taste for the game.
If you have questions when starting off ping me in game.

prophecies has the best learning curve because that is the way it was designed but otherwise go with nightfall because u start out with heroes to begin with and don't have to depend as much on other people and henchmen.

trilogy--no questions asked--which comes with all three campaigns
what you should be asking is which campaign to start in, and that depends what you want out of the game:
good story with easy open-ended gameplay = prophecies
lots of action with more linear task-oriented gameplay = factions
strategy/depth with lots of customization options = nightfall
pvp = random arenas/zaishen

only if u prefer very slow learning curves.

agree, which for me personally would make the worst learning curve (because it teaches you very little very slowly).

prophecies has the best learning curve & good storyline so I'd say prophecies
Nightfall is also quite good though with heroes to help you out....

I would implore you to get NIGHTFALL first as you will probably find little to no help in getting through missions in Prophesies or Factions. So, you'll need those HERO's from NIGHTFALL to get you through the majority of the other chapters especially the boss parts. You will be crying and screaming and gnawing and gnashing your teeth if you try to start with the other chapters first. Trust me I know, been there done it and the player base left to help you with most of the chapters aren't very good.

i would start with nightfall because i liked the story the best (LOL) and because heroes are probably the most help full thing in all of the games.
